New Applet
I made a new applet, I'm calling it 'Shimmia' and it's based on distorting an image using trig functions.

I'll probably make it better later, there's loads of fun stuff you can do with distorted images and I haven't played with them for years.

Thanks! There's so much more that could be done with the basic concept - it baffles me that I've seen so many ripply lakes and puddly-droplets, and so little in the way of mad random warping that you can play with...

I'm not seeing all that much difference in the non-beta version, to be honest! But it's nice they felt able to call it that all the same. I think I'm going to write up Processing...
